“I've been paying for 1gig internet up and down for a few years now, but my upload speed has been abysmal. Verizon has diagnosed the problem as my router, and replaced my router like 8 times now - citing it to be the issue - but it hasn't fixed anything.”
“Verizon artificially throttled my parents' fiber connection to 3 Mbps for years just to charge them $80/month on a grandfathered plan. They were paying nearly double the current market rate for 2005-level service.”
“So fast, so reliable, until it isn't. Verizon is so eager to add new customers that they unplug things really quick to plug new people in. It would be very nice if symmetrical gigabit service could be matched with an uptime SLA.”
“I pay $35/month for 300 Mbps with FiOS and she's paying 3 times that with Optimum for 100 Mbps. The difference is staggering.”

View on FCC Broadband MapFios 2 Gig is the fastest connection I've ever experienced. Getting nearly 2 Gbps download. The Wi-Fi 6E router they include with this tier is excellent. Zero outages in 6 months. This is the future of home internet.
Tried Xfinity and RCN before settling on Fios. The fiber connection is so much more stable than cable, especially during peak hours. My Zoom calls never drop and gaming latency is incredibly low. Can't recommend it enough.
Fios has been the most reliable internet I've ever used. In three years, I can count the outages on one hand. The symmetrical gigabit speeds are real - consistently getting 900+ both ways. Worth the premium over cable.
The service is excellent, speeds are consistent, and reliability is great. My only gripe is the $15/month router rental. I bought my own router to avoid that, but Verizon's app features don't fully work with third-party equipment.
